FAQs

You’ve Got Questions - We’ve Got Answers

When should my child start seeing a Pediatric Dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that a child see a pediatric dentist by age 1 or within six months after the first tooth erupts. Primary teeth typically begin growing in around 6 months of age.
Exams for children this age are usually very easy and involve making sure that the teeth are healthy and that the teeth and mouth are developing normally. If there is a problem it's best to catch it early. For the health and development of your child's mouth, an ounce of prevention is truly worth a pound of cure!

Can I get a same-day appointment?

To help take great care of our patients we reserve time in our schedule each day for those who need to be seen right away. Please give us a call and we will bend over backward to work with your schedule and take great care of your family!

What about very anxious/nervous kids?

All of us at ClubHouse Pediatric Dentistry love kids and we understand that going to the dentist, especially for the first time, can be a scary experience for some kids. So to help your child have a successful experience we go the extra mile.
To begin, everyone in our office smiles and is very fun and gentle with our patients. It's amazing how quickly most kids' nervousness disappears when they feel safe and cared for.
For those who prefer it, we also offer nitrous oxide gas (laughing gas) to help reduce patient anxiety during treatment.
For those who feel it's necessary for their child we also offer full sedation dentistry. This includes full sedation (putting the child to sleep) by a certified professional while our pediatric dentist does the necessary dental work in a sterile operating room. After all the necessary dental work is complete, your child is monitored until they wake up and you can take them home. Most kids remember nothing about the procedure, which is nice for very high anxiety kids.

Do you accept my insurance?  What about financing options?

We accept assignment of benefits from all private and public insurances including Premier Access, MCNA, and Medicaid. We also offer cash payer discounts and payment plans with little to no interest.

Are your doctors Certified Pediatric Dentists or General Dentists that treat kids?

All of our doctors are Certified Pediatric Dentists, meaning that after completing 4 years of dental school they completed an additional 2-3 years of full-time specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. During this specialty training they learned far more about how to better diagnose and treat dental issues and growth abnormalities in children.
General dentists who treat mostly children in their offices did not complete this additional 2-3 years of specialty training so please be sure to ask specifically about this when choosing your child's dentist.
No judgment. Just saying...
